Dodo, eight tracks...and keyboards?!

You'll tell your grandchildren, "When I was a kid we had cell phones and hard drives!" They will look at you, astonished, and ask, "What are those?"

These are two of the things that Dave Pollard thinks will soon be phased out in favor of better, smaller, faster, or cheaper technologies. Take a look at his blog for the other ten items (it includes classrooms!). Do you agree with Pollard? Will we see the end of meetings and email in our lifetimes?

Salon.com, the host of this blog, is an online magazine that has a progressive political slant.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to SCCS, the Library Media Center and a new school year!

The library will be open 7:30-4 Monday-Thursday and 7:30-3:30 on Fridays. Please come by the library in your free time! During out first two weeks all elementary and middle school students will come to the library with their classes to review the rules and check out books. I can't wait to see you, and meet the new students!

On to business: the new books haven't arrived yet. We expect them in the library by the end of the month. I'm heartbroken about this, but in the meantime there are a few new books that were donated or bought at the Feria de Libros. Please come by and take a look.

Current displays include the Olympics, and History and Mythology in Fiction (this will help with Mr. Dahlberg's social studies assignment).

Have a great year!

Games! Games! Games!

The Smithsonian (a museum group in the US) has gathered online games from a variety of websites and put them together in one place! If you're interested in polar animals (penguins!), vikings, dinosaurs, or many other fascinating topics, check it out!
